Bruno Mars saves fan's life with his music

Los Angeles - Bruno Mars has helped to save a fan's life with his music.

The 28-year-old singer's hit tracks were used by doctors to treat 11-year-old Zumyah Thorpe following a car accident which left her with severe physical difficulties and brain damage, and killed her mother and two sisters.

Staff at the UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, played Bruno's songs to Zumyah throughout her recovery and insist the music has helped her progress.

Pediatirc neurologist, Nancy Bass, told WKYC, I am absolutely convinced that singing those Bruno Mars songs and being able to say Bruno Mars is in itself is a miracle, knowing all the words to the songs has helped her recover.

Bass added, I asked her who her favourite singer was and she said, Bruno Mars! as quick as anyone would say any singer, and she just started singing every single word.

The Marry You hitmaker - who was performing in Cleveland, Ohio, this past Saturday dedicated the performance to Zumyah who was in the audience and serenaded her with her favourite track Just The Way You Are.

The hunky singer also gifted the brave little girl with his guitar and signature fedora.

Following the show, Bruno tweeted a snap of himself and Zumyah along with with the caption:
"Zumyah tonight you gave my band and I something we've never felt before. you're an inspiration to the world! #WeLoveYouZumyah."
