It’s been a journey of empowerment, sustainable development and expansion over a decade and still counting for the first and top biggest mixed pageant in Africa’s poise, class and entertainment industry. Mr and Miss Nigeria International has built an applaud able and outstanding relationship beyond Africa and internationally. Over the years, the profound impact to the growth and development of the Nigerian Youths has been quite remarkable and not limited to the entertainment industry.

Set to blaze the trail, Brendance and Crusaders Limited, BCL after successfully hosting ten editions, brings the all new innovative upcoming Landmark event (the eleventh edition) called the Evolution Pageantry Miss Nigeria International. The organization targets a strong intercultural dialogue through Arts, Culture and Tourism as a ready means to contribute to the National economy bridging the gaps by languages through creation of newer pathways to forge ahead. This is the turn of a new beginning, a new phase to continue the legacy in another dimension in a fast changing world.

Ekiti State Government is not only home to a world of Arts, tourism and Culture but has gained global recognition through its myriads of tourism activities. While speaking at a press briefing organized by Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism on Monday 18th July 2022, in Ado-Ekiti, the multiple award winning Chief executive of BCL, Ambassador Brendan Nsikak stated that the pageantry offers a wealth of opportunities for governments to attract tourists, encourage connectivity through travels and visits, bring in investors both locally and internationally as instruments to building a robust economy. He stated that the organization is set to partner with Ekiti State Government after announcing Ado-Ekiti as the venue of choice through the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism on this landmark edition due to their track record in championing positive causes related to Culture and tourism.

According to United Nations Ambassador on Arts and Culture, Ekiti state under the present administration of Governor Kayode Fayemi is increasingly expanding the horizon in the world of business, culture and recreation and is fast gaining recognition for high profile events. This he attributed to the vast experience, governance, leadership , transparency and expertise of the strategically and techno-cratically positioned heads of Ministries and sectors. Additionally, he highlighted that the weeklong calendar of events in Ado-Ekiti will certainly provide opportunities for networking, capacity development through ideas sharing and globally acceptable best practices especially as it relates to tourism and culture which is under represented in the national economy. He further buttressed that contestants coming from all states of the federation including Federal Capital Territory will once again unite Nigeria as one with a heart to serve irrespective of the differences and orientation under the umbrella of Arts, Culture and Tourism.

Amb Brendan noted that the multimillion naira event (Miss Nigeria International) which is partnered with the Ekiti State government as the chief host has quite a number of previous and prospective sponsors and partners including local investors in Ekiti who are willing to contribute meaningfully to the project. We live in a turning point in world history, a time period in age development and human civilization when human intellect has offered breakthrough opportunities and inventions that have helped overcome threats challenging human existence through well thought innovations and collaborations. Such development initiatives requires that private sectors work with the National and International bodies through the though leadership and political will of the government to provide solutions in different thematic areas.

These were the strong points of the erudite scholar, Prof Rasaki Ojo Bakare, the Honorable Commissioner of Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism Ekiti State who has proven to be efficient not only in the academic field but in the political terrain as he welcomed the delegates of BCL on behalf of Ekiti State government for earmarking the State as the noble host of this respectful initiative. 

The first professor of Choreography and Performing Aesthetic from Nigeria and a former dean of the post graduate school of Federal University of Oye-Ekiti re-affirmed that Ekiti has the requisite experience to handle a project of this magnitude judging from his commitment and versatility in this field having organized National Festival of Arts and Culture in 2021 which received unimaginable applause for its planning and ultimate execution.

As a Cultural Ambassador under the present administration, he stated that the State has what it takes to pull this weight. In his further statement, he endorsed the credibility and high transparency of BCL which has further projected her into the international arena opening windows of opportunity for Nigerian youths in all spheres of life as professionals, models, celebrities, entrepreneurs to mention a few. He said that the success of these young men and women is a product of the organizational excellence as they continue to make impact nationally and in diaspora. He declared the readiness of the government to host this landmark pageantry and their willingness to support and grow with this opportunity the world class entertainment event offers.

The multi Fellow of Performing Arts assured BCL that the state will employ all necessary arsenals to make the event a reality through provision of hospitality, rebate where necessary, pro bono access to all tourist facilities in the state, collaboration and partnership with local investors, technical and logistics support including security and transportation within the very capacity of the state etc.

Public private partnership has become a driving force that constantly utilizes local resources to support community services and translate emerging development initiatives into economic growth and national progress. The Marketing consultant of Brendance and Crusaders Dr Gab-Okafor Chidinma acknowledged the Honorable Commissioner for his warm reception and further highlighted that partnership is a key goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The Consultant Public Health Physician who is also a dermato-cosmetologist stated that entertainment is a form of advocacy program targeted at capacity development through infotainment and edutainment offered by such initiatives as Miss Nigeria International.

She mentioned that she has no doubt that Prof Bakare with his wealth of experience and great reputation in managing high profile events including presidential inaugurations and Abuja Carnival can comfortably execute this event. The Public health physician further described the Honorable commissioner as a man who knows his onions and the partnership with Ekiti state is much awaited icing on the cake for BCL. She commented that it is a grand way of promoting culturally sensitive and relevant protocols in Nigeria. Dr Gab-Okafor who has interest in Environmental Health notably Cosmetics and Toxicology expressed her strong approval of this platform to contribute to issues surrounding the toxic chemicals in Cosmetics especially skin bleaching in a creative and adaptable way. She believes that Ekiti State Government has innumerable potentials in wealth creation through tourism leveraging on opportunities presented by the eleventh edition on Miss Nigeria International.

The BCL team during the press brief was represented by some of the members of the board of trustees: Amb Brendan Nsikak, Mr Stephen Oviomaigho, Mr Kenneth Unuame, Mr Sunday Okereke and Dr Gab-Okafor Chidinma. While the Ekiti State Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism was represented by the Honorable Commissioner, Permanent Secretaries and Directors of the Ministry.
