For those who don't know yet, here is the Miss Tourism 2014, Miss Collete Nwadike, the 23yr old lady from Anambra who emerged as the winner of the 2014 edition of Miss Tourism Nigeria. Here is an insight into things that I believe you don't know yet about her.
So let me hint you by saying she is graduate of English and literature from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
A simple, lovable, kind lady often confused to be a snub but with close interaction is actually just a reserved person with a quite nice personality.
She loves modelling and had always had the dream to become one since she was a child, she said "..... I always admire their flawlessness and I have always told myself that this is what I want". She mentioned model Bianca Ojukwu and Rejina Askia-Williams as a role model.
With a nice pedigree on the runway, including Miss NASELLS (a departmental contest back in school), Miss UNIZIK, MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN NIGERIA, MISS EARTH NIGERIA (where she won Miss Earth Photogenic), MISS GLOBAL NIGERIA, MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN ABUJA (2nd runner up) and then on May 17,2014, she emerged as the winner of MISS TOURISM NIGERIA.
Her parents where initially, subtly indifferent about her love for modelling and objected to her sneaking out of school to participate in competitions, but with time they got used to it and gave her all the support she needed.
When I asked her, she told me she had a strong self conviction and confidence and never at any time during the contest felt threatened or intimidated by anyone of the other contestants. She also clearly stated that the contest was entirely free and fair.
Here is a lady who doesn't live life in regrets and only thankful for mistakes made because they made her a better person. The glitz and glam, the paparazzi and the attentions are pouring in and she is totally enjoying it.... She mentioned that if given the chance to live life twice, she'll still come back as herself. A big fan of Flavour,Phyno, Tiwa Savage on the home scene and also Rihanna and Lil wayne on the foreign front.
Well every girl has got to have her fetish, our dearly beloved "Miss T" has a thing for human hair and would pay any price attached to the most expensive (that's my girl).. loves Jimmy Choe shoes, Louis Vuitton bags, dresses by Zalima and House of Nwaocha.... her favorite accessory is the wrist watch...... a lil Rolex wouldn't hurt....
If you seek to please the Queen, you might wanna remember all that.... *winks*
With the Crown, she intends to work with charity, and she is currently the Special Assistant on Tourism to the Governor of Anambra State. She seeks to set up foundations for youth empowerment across the country.
Her philosophy about life.
"...courage is not the absence of fear but rather the knowledge that something else is more important than fear".
Her advice for youths out there with dreams.
"Its one thing to dream, its another thing to do what it takes to keep the dream alive, so many people dream but lack the perseverance and determination to make the dream come alive..... DONT GIVE UP"
